So it’s not a complaint but you label it an atroicy…sounds like a complaint to me.
While I agree that google translate isn’t a good idea, if she/he has Spanish users wanting to use the application and the choice is between offering no Spanish and Spanish then is there an alternative ?
As someone who has just recently built translation infrastructure for a whole bunch of websites, I understand the pressure there is to provide translation in a particular language yet no one is willing to actually do the work required for translation to be maintainable.

From a translator point of view, I would not ship a crappy translation even if there are no volunteers.
I see your point on the maintainability of translations, though. But in this case the whole Spanish version of gMTP is Google-translated, so it’s not like a early volunteer provided an incomplete translation and the maintainer needed to complete it using machine translation.

Apologies, I misread your comment under the image. For what it’s worth, Atrocity is a fairly strong word and if I were the developer of the aforementioned app, I probably wouldn’t feel inclinded to try and help.

So from your perspective, no translation is better than a bad translation ? I personally would not have thought this to be the case however my primary language is english so that my be because my grasp of other languages is fairly limited.
For example, if the developer had used traditional chinese glyphs for the UI, I personally would be grateful for even a google translated UI. Bad english phrases or even incorrect use of words gives me enough to think through what the button / option may possibly do.
